Crown Heights spans a huge cross-section of central Brooklyn, running from the Brooklyn Botanic Garden on one edge all the way to East New York on the other. Crown Heights—full of Brooklyn old-timers and newcomers alike—is as busy, vibrant, and eclectic as it is wide. Crown Heights is known for its large Caribbean community, and plays host to the West Indian Day Parade, one of the city's largest annual street festivals, every Labor Day.
