About Las Vegas

“What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas.” Who hasn’t heard this city’s famous tagline? But Las Vegas has much more to offer than a weekend of partying.

The city’s suburbs are surprisingly affordable and family-friendly for local residents. Even the infamous Las Vegas Strip increasingly includes attractions for children such as the Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat at the Mirage hotel or the amusement park at Circus Circus. For those willing to brave the summer heat, day trips to nearby Red Rock Canyon and Lake Mead offer outdoor adventure and fun. The Grand Canyon is just a short 4 hour jaunt away also.

Many of Vegas’s residents do work in the tourism industry as one would expect. However, jobs in real estate, construction, healthcare and technology are also plentiful. The cost of living is very reasonable, and purchasing a starter home is an easily attainable goal for most. All in all, Las Vegas (and its surrounding suburbs) is an underrated place to live, work, and even start a family.
