About Mima

Mima is a small town of roughly 30,000 residents located in the Tokushima Prefecture on Shikoku Island. The Yoshino River snakes through town and is considered one of the mightiest rivers in all of Japan. Meandering from the foothills of Mount Tsurugi, the river has been a source of agricultural prosperity for those living in the region.

The town flourished as the primary trading hub for indigo during the Edo Period, and its historic centre is lined with traditional merchants’ houses. Much of Mima’s architecture dates to the Edo Period, and its use of a unique architectural feature called udatsu makes it stand out amongst other Japanese architecture.

Outside of the town centre, residents live mostly in villages perched along the mountains. The previously mentioned Mount Tsurugi is the second tallest peak in western Japan standing at 1,954-meters and a popular destination for mountain trekkers. Ichinomori, Mount Ryuo, and Mount Otaki are other nearby summits that are popular for mountaineering, camping and gazing at fall foliage.

What is an Extended Stay Hotel

Extended stay hotels offer apartment-style living with the flexibility and convenience of a hotel. Your suite will typically include a bedroom, bathroom, living area, desk or workstation, fully equipped kitchen, and a dining or bar area. On-site amenities often include continental breakfast buffets, housekeeping services, laundry rooms, fitness centers, and even grocery delivery services.

Extended stay hotels offer additional discounts on monthly stays, making them an affordable option for longer term accommodations.

Although extended stay hotels cater primarily to business clients, due to their increased amenities many travelers prefer them for leisure travel as well. Extended stay hotels are the perfect option for anyone looking to experience the comforts of home alongside the convenience and amenities of a hotel.

Extended Stay Hotels in Mima

Mima is an escape to the simple life, and this district of many villages still clings to its roots. The town traces its history to the Edo Period where residents bred the finest horses and farmers cultivated indigo and other cash crops. These traditions are still alive today and the horse remains a cherished symbol of the town.

The town center preserves its Edo Period architecture, and properties are built with extended roofs to help prevent fires. Many of the historic structures now operate as cafés and gift shops open to the public. Although other properties are difficult to reach by foot, three train stations provide service in the Mima area.

Looking for the ultimate in convenience? Extended stay hotels allow potential residents to make reservations - not leases - and offer a flexibility that most apartments and other living situations do not. You won't have to worry about furniture, appliances, utilities or any other necessities - these are all provided for you, allowing your temporary residence in Mima to feel like home!

Extended stay hotels are a great option for both business and leisure travelers, as well as anyone who is relocating to Mima, transitioning from military service, or simply working on temporary projects. This sector of lodging continues to grow as both the job and housing markets adapt to the country's changing priorities and values. To keep up with the increasing demand for flexible and comfortable housing options, extended stay hotels expertly focus on providing elevated communal and residential living to their temporary residents.
